Hockey is back! After a 5-month hiatus, the NHL is back for the 2020 playoffs, and we’re along for the ride.
We speak with Dave Sandford (@Dave_Sandford), the NHL photographer who captured the amazing picture of Kadri’s (literal) last-second goal against the Blues, and he walks us through how you capture a moment like that, what it’s like living in the playoff bubble in Edmonton, and where that picture ranks among his favorite shots.
Then we open up the phone lines (or Zoom room, whatever) and talk with a few of our listeners, with only minimal interference from trolls. It’s playoff time, everybody! Let’s go Avs!

Love it or hate it, everybody had an opinion about last weekend's Stadium Series game at the US Air Force academy. Between multi-hour traffic delays, deep mug over most of the parking area, and concession stands running out of supplies there was a lot to complain about. There was also an entertaining game with fantastic production values set against an amazingly scenic backdrop.
Grant Beery (@voteforgrant) and Erica (EricaAnd3cats) join us to tell their versions of the game. This episode is brought to you commercial free by “Running Late For The Avs Game”.

Hampus Liedman is in the studio today all the way from Sweden. The Swedish Songsmith is making his first U.S. trip to watch the Avs play, and he joined us to walk us through the international effort that went into his newest Avs composition, how hard it is to stay awake to see games in Scandinavia, and WHAT IS ACTUALLY GOING ON WITH PETER FORSBERG’S GAME SHOW (spoiler: we get more excited about it on this show than most people in Sweden).
(More on Liedman here)
We weren't actually in England last week as the Twitterverse said. Steve explains what happened to the first Ep. 24.
And we dish our plans for the Stadium Series game on Saturday. Here's all the info you could ever need about the game.

We’ve talked over the last few weeks about the special sweaters for the outdoor Air Force Academy game, so we decided to bring in an expert. Grant Beery (@voteforgrant) owns more hockey jerseys than some of us own shirts, so he knows what makes one worth buying.
We also chat about the All-Star game, and if any of it was worth watching.
Plus: are we getting closer to seeing Avs games on Comcast again? No. No, we aren’t.

Hey hecklers, can we all be adults at games? We're all there to watch hockey.
Chris Otto ran into Steve at a game and now he's in our studio, er, random room at 9NEWS. He's got a good Joe Sakic story.
And here's that link the Peter Forsberg/Swedish game show thing.
